Creative Workshop Facilitation

“...the capacity to cooperate in complex ways is rooted in the
earliest stages of human develpment; these capacities do not disappear in adult life. These developmental resources risk
being wasted by modern society.”
-Richard Sennett, Together

I facilitate workshops where we compose original sound-somethings together.  It could be a piece of music, a sound art installation, songs, sonic experiments, improvisations...whatever best frames the sounds we make and how we want to share them.

As facilitators, our responsibility is to ‘hold the space’ in a way that keeps the forces of editing, critique, quick answers, and [performance anxiety] at bay. This makes room for the unknown, for practicing being together, experimenting with dialogics, and finding delightful sounds. This work is responsive and specific to the people, the place and the time. Something will always happen.

Some essential elements need to be in place for this work to be truly transformational: trusting creative process, recognizing and accepting difference, cooperation, and diving into the joy of making sound.

I/we do this work with people of all ages, ability, and backgrounds.
